Digraphs

Here are the various documents regarding digraphs.  They are arranged according to difficulty levels.  The easiest most elementary ones are first.  It is best to start with the first exercise and work your way up the levels.  This way you ensure that the learner gains all the skills necessary to build words.  Do not proceed to the next exercise unless the learner has mastered the previous exercise completely:

Write ch for chair words

In this exercise the learner listens to words and then writes them.  There are two versions available.  If the learner still struggles a lot with the phonological analysis of words into their respective sounds then he/she can start with the first exercise where the sound for every letter or letter group is given.  Ultimately the learner needs to listen to the whole word without it being analysed for him/her.  He/she needs to do the phonological analysis for her/himself when writing the word.  This skill is practiced in the second exercise.  The learner needs to master this by making the minimal amount of mistakes before moving onto the next phonics group.  The third exercise contains the answers.  Please download it here.
